Configure One is the Fabric of Success for Propex

Global Leader in the synthetic fiber and fabric industry selects Configure One to replace legacy systems

OAK BROOK, IL – January 29, 2016 – Configure One™, a leading provider of web-based product configurator and software, today announced that Propex Operating Company, LLC.—a global leader in the synthetic fiber and fabric industry—selected Configure One’s Enterprise Product Configurator® after a comprehensive evaluation.

Propex GeoSolutions is a global leader in geosynthetic solutions for earth stabilization. As one of the largest geotextile manufacturers in the world, its portfolio of solutions helps build and rebuild key infrastructure across the globe.

Propex recognized that to continue to serve its worldwide customer base, the company needed to streamline and improve it CPQ process. “The first step is to ensure that our customers select the correct product,” said Drew Loizeaux, Engineering Specialist, GeoSolutions. “This can be a complicated process. Currently, we use a spreadsheet-based tool to calculate the erosion control materials, but you need to be an engineer and possess considerable product knowledge to use it successfully. It was also difficult to keep up-to-date, and we couldn’t make the information available to our customers and partners.”

Propex was looking for a web-based solution that eventually could be made available to its worldwide customer base. “We were looking for a software tool that could satisfy our needs now and in the future,” said Loizeaux. “We wanted a reliable partner that provided the tools to allow us to maintain the software ourselves without having to rely on the vendor.”

In the end, Propex selected Configure One’s Enterprise Product Configurator due to its strong integration capabilities, and the company’s deep engineering knowledge. “Flexibility was a key factor,” said Loizeaux. “Configure One will allow us to adapt our processes as our business changes—all at a reasonable cost. We were very impressed with the team from Configure One. The sales team had engineering backgrounds, and they understood what we are trying to accomplish very quickly. Another decision factor was integration. In the future, we plan to integrate Configure One to our ERP and CRM systems, and they have the tools to make that happen.”

According to Loizeaux, Propex expects to receive many benefits once Configure One is fully implemented. “Due to the limitations of our existing system, we only have two engineers working on designs. When Configure One is operational, potentially we will have hundreds of engineers working on designs worldwide. Configure One gives us a great opportunity to increase the market for erosion control, and increase market share for Propex. In the initial phase we will focus on the design calculations to ensure our customers select the right product. Configure One will provide specifications, installation guidelines, data sheets, and collateral. In the future, we want to move from product selection to e-commerce.”

“Once again, Configure One’s flexibility and power to handle complex calculations proved decisive,” said Chris DiEllo, Product Specialist Sales Executive for Configure One. “We are excited that Propex selected Configure One to better serve their customers, and realize the full potential of a modern CPQ system.”
