Global leader in the meters and edge device industry selects Configure One CPQ to streamline their quoting process

OAK BROOK, IL – June 14, 2017 – Configure One™ , a leading provider of web-based product configurator and CPQ (configure, price, quote) software, today announced that Aclara Technologies—a global leader in the metering and edge device industry—selected Configure One’s CPQ and product configurator.

As an end-to-end, smart infrastructure solution, Aclara combines innovative technology with data-driven solutions to predict, plan, and respond to system conditions across electric, gas, or water distribution networks.

In their search for a CPQ system, Aclara focused on finding a vendor that would allow them to improve their quote accuracy and also provide the ability to extend the tool to their broad dealer network.

After fifteen months, they were still not able to get it to work with their business model.” This previous frustration led Aclara to begin a search for a CPQ application that they could get up and running quickly with limited effort.

Aclara came across Configure One when searching for a CPQ tool that would allow their internal teams to quote their products faster and more accurately. “There are a lot of inputs that go into the accurate configuration of Aclara’s meters,” said Smith. “It’s important for Aclara to have a reliable CPQ platform so they could be confident that every configuration, quote, and order that came through the system was accurate.” Mistakes in quoting or ordering creates a significant cost, so reducing these occurrences with Configure One CPQ will help increase overall revenue.

As Aclara grows, their CPQ platform will need to grow with them, something the previous vendor wasn’t able to easily accomplish. Since Configure One can be implemented and maintained by Aclara employees, they will have the flexibility to adjust, or even add to their CPQ implementation for years to come. All while lowering their total cost of ownership for the application.

Going forward, Aclara expects to integrate Configure One to their ERP system, JD Edwards. This integration will ensure that all data used in the configuration and quoting process is up to date in real time, providing an even more seamless quote to order process for the Aclara team.
