Configure One to  light up Liverpool on June 20 during Manufacturing Innovation Summit

Configure One recently released details of its June 20 participation at the Manufacturing Innovation Summit, a major multi-day industry event slated for the Exhibition Centre Liverpool in Liverpool, England.

The firm’s contribution will come under the larger umbrella of the 2018 International Business Festival, which will convene worldwide stakeholders to advance the global marketplace from June 12 to June 28.

“This two-day conference will focus on practical tools and techniques for improving manufacturing efficiency through education, innovation, leadership and collaboration,” event promoters stated on the summit website. “Forward-looking, future-facing manufacturing leaders from across the sector will come to look at ways technology is growing margins and boosting growth.”

Configure One will support the festival’s June 20-21 Manufacturing Excellence segment, with EMEA Director Jon Lidbury and Director of Enterprise Solutions David Ray focusing on manufacturing innovation.

Lidbury, who is responsible for his district’s technical teams, has been with Configure One since December 2006. He brings an extensive background in IS/IT, large-scale multi-national ERP implementations and lean manufacturing consulting. Ray handles enterprise and global implementations and has been with the firm since 2007.

Joining other industry representatives, the Configure One team will deliver a 15-minute presentation. While the summit will offer a keynote speaker session, “the event is primarily geared around the roundtable discussions,” Lidbury said.

These conversations will include cloud and collaborative design and innovation culture.

Other confirmed speakers include Member of Parliament (MP) Robin Walker, who serves as a minister in charge of Brexit, and MP Barry Gardiner, who handles UK trade negotiation issues as shadow secretary of state for international trade.

“Rather than sit at the back of a conference room and look at presentation slides all day, delegates get to join a high-level conversation on a focused topic, tapping into the expertise and experience of their discussion leader and fellow delegates,” event organizers stated via their website. “They can choose which discussion table to join from the available topics, and each discussion lasts 30 minutes, enabling them to participate in five different discussions during the course of the conference.”

Past delegates have conveyed enthusiasm regarding the interactive presentation format, citing positive energy, collaboration and networking benefits.

“The discussion tables have given a chance for everyone to be more involved, as opposed to a conventional conference where one person is lecturing and a lot of people are just listening,” Mohammad Hassan Khalid, a data scientist at GSK, told organizers. Andy Carr of BAE Systems also praised the “excellent opportunity to discuss key issues with peers in the industry.”
